University of Northern Iowa Campus, Friday, April 1, 2022. This conference is free to PK12 educators and pre-service educators. A limited number of substitute stipends are available to early registrations. The conference will include breakout sessions, keynote, exhibits, and lunch.

On the UNI campus: July 11-14, 2022
The course begins with an online component in the spring to prepare you for the hands-on workshop visiting various geological sites and preparing curricular materials in July.
- Develop rock and mineral collections while obtaining a basic proficiency in their identification.
- Focus on the significance of these items in understanding and interpreting Earth’s history and the geology of Iowa.
- Learn the various economic and environmental aspects of Iowa geology.
- Earn 2 graduate credits for a reduced cost of $238 thanks to support from the Iowa Limestone producers.
Exploring Medical/Health Careers Virtual Panel
in partnership with Waterloo Community Schools. [Medical and Health Career Resources]
Faculty and student panelists from Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Public Health, Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Kinesiology
1.5 hours, including pre-prepared and open Q&A
Pre-Med, Nursing, and Medical-Other are 3 of the top 10 interest areas identified by students on the ACTs. But in a sector with literally hundreds of different careers, how can we help each student successfully navigate their own path?
After participating in this panel, participants will be able to:
- compare and contrast a the breadth of medical and health career options available to students
- explain at least three experiences that are essential components of medical/health undergraduate program (clinical experience, undergraduate research, internship)
- list at least one online resource and one contact person as a resource for additional exploration of medical/health careers
